Sometimes you have to navigate through several menu pages to get to the desired TomTom function. If you use a certain function frequently, it's much easier to have that function on the first menu page! You can rearrange the TomTom menus easily with this free software.

Frequently Answered Questions (FAQs)

1. What TomTom models does this software work on?
This software has only been tested by the author on a TomTom 300. However, menu files can be uploaded to 300/500/700/510/710/910/ONE models and should work perfectly well. E-mails have come from many users using different TomTom models, and all with success. It even works on TomTom Navigator software for PDAs.

2. Where are the rest of the icons such as "Home", "Postcode", "City Centre" etc?
Not all icons / menu pages can be customised. Those icons which cannot be customised are often available on separate menus accessed by clicking another icon. For example, "Home", "Post Code", "City Centre" are all avaiable from clicking "Navigate To". You cannot however just put the "Home" or "Postcode" button on the main page of your menu.

3. Will adding a new menu delete my default TomTom menus?
When you customise a menu, all your TomTom menus are replaced. However, should you need or want to return to the default TomTom menu which came shipped with your TomTom, simply delete the TomTom.mnu file from your TomTom.

4. Where are other menu items for x10 TomToms or firmware v6?
There are a number of icons which (to date) are not available to be customised. These are :

  • Speaker Preferences
  • Disable wireless data
  • Show fewer / more menu options (but you are customising your menu anyway!)
  • Ask arrival time
  • Set owner
  • Start up preferences

This may seem like a downside to customising your own menus, but most of the settings in the icons above you only ever set once (or rarely after). Therefore, should you need to change, for example the owner information (from "Set owner"), simply remove the customised menu from your TomTom which will return you to the default TomTom menus. Then you will have access to the Set Owner button. Change the owner information and after you can copy the customised menu to your TomTom again.

5. How do I display no text under the “next page” button?
Please see page 7 of the manual for instructions
